Riecine di Riecine is our ultimate expression of the best wine that can be made from Sangiovese – true to the vineyard and the very essence of the Gaiole terroir, capturing everything that is Riecine. Aged more than two years in barriques, the style is fresh and elegant while retaining the mineral tannins and structure for which Riecine has become famous. This is the essence of Riecine.



BLEND 100% Sangiovese

TERROIR: Soils of limestone and clay.

ALTITUDINE: 500 s.l.m

VINEYARD: Gaiole in Chianti (Siena). Selection of the historical vineyards of Riecine. Certificated Organic by ICEA and introducing biodynamic practices.


YIELD: 20 hl/ha

HARVEST Picked by hand with 2 selections: in the vines and vibrating sorting table.

WINEMAKING Separated by plots. Grapes are crushed by foot and then, either fermented in open top
bins or cement “Nomblot” tanks. Maceration for about 40 days and pressed off.

AGEING Aged 36 months, mainly in cement tanks “NOMBLOT” and used 500L tonneaux.

BOTTLING Febbraio 2016. Produzione: 8.000 bottiglie da 0,75 L – 150 bottiglie da 1,5 L – 20 bottiglie da 3 L.

CELLARINGÀ: Can be enjoyed now and will last up to 20 years.

CELLARING rosso rubino, con un corpo di media intensità, brillante e ricco di tonalità profonde di frutti rossi, supportate da una bella mineralità. Struttura tannica ed elegante con un lungo e fresco finale.

TASTING NOTES Ruby red robe, Medium bodied wine, Brillant and rich with deep red fruits flavours supported
by a fine minerality. Elegant tannic structure and long fresh finish.
